I reckon this most useful and entertaining title may well surprise both booksellers and publishers alike with the sales it achieves.
I think the world is full of aspiring writers and this most accessible and well-written book is aimed fairly and squarely at motivating and encouraging those folk by offering tips, advice and Maeve’s own wonderfully witty take on the life of a writer.

Also included are chapters by other experts in their field on such subjects as writing for radio, writing for stage, writing for children, mystery and suspense writing, writing comedy, the publisher and much more. Marian Keyes is one of the contributors where she shares her no-nonsense approach to the hard work that goes into writing a full-length work of fiction.
And at the end a delightful short story by Maeve Binchy (pic right) about a group of people who find themselves put together on a writing course. Hilarious.

Every new and aspiring writer should buy this book. It is not at all dry or text bookish, rather it is full of sage advice delivered in the most entertaining manner.

Maeve Binchy would be a great dinner companion I reckon. I'll bet she has a wicked sense of humour!
