In association with the annual international Proverse Prize
for unpublished book-length fiction, non-fiction or poetry, established in
January 2008, an international Proverse Poetry Prize (for single poems) is
announced.
Entries should previously be unpublished in any way.
Entrants keep their copyright.
Cash prizes may be awarded as follows:
1st prize; USD100.00;2nd prize: USD45.00;
3rd prizes (up to four winners): USD20.00.
In 2016, judging will take place at the same time as the
judging for the Proverse Prize for unpublished book-length fiction, non-fiction
or poetry.
The Proverse Poetry Prize is open to all who are at least
eighteen years old whatever their residence, nationality or citizenship.
You are invited to submit in English one or more previously unpublished poems written by you (not a translation of another writer's work, but may be a translation of your own work if originally written in another language) in which you own the copyright.
You may submit more than one poem, each to be no more than 30 lines. An entry fee needs to be paid for each poem.
Poems may be (a) on any subject or theme OR (b) on a subject or theme selected by the organisers. The theme selected by the organisers in 2016 is, "The Environment", and may be interpreted in any way you choose. You may use any form, style or genre.
