Former leading New Zealand publisher and bookseller, and widely experienced judge of both the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the Montana New Zealand Book Awards, talks about what he is currently reading, what impresses him and what doesn't, along with chat about the international English language book scene, and links to sites of interest to booklovers.
Hi G, other G - Gina - here, haven't read any of the books posted, but can't wait to get back to snap up a few. I loved 'Hullabaloo...' when I read it some years ago so the new one takes my fancy! Anyway thanks for the blog and many happy moments doing what we love (apart from drinking very good wine) READING. Ciao, Gina L
Great to see so many NZ authors represented. Did I count six? Corballis, Gee, Kidman, Morris,Olsson and Shuker. One of them has a chance to receive the world's richest book prize, but hey, don't hold your breath guys as there are some of the biggest names writing in the English language in that long list!
